Jeanelle, in a nutshell:

Who I am

I consider myself a life-long learner: Following my undergraduate degree in creative advertising, I applied my knowledge in consumer-brand relationships for three years within content management until becoming a Digital Content Manager. I eventually decided to return to school as a Master of Information candidate at the University of Toronto to further my understanding of user experience design across all applications, not just digital.

What I care about

  • Decolonizing design: I'm interested in work that investigates how institutions can better represent and support the lived experiences of the communities they serve.

  • Accessibility: I design with the philosophy that when products and services can be used by anyone, regardless of ability, they are immediately more helpful to everyone.

  • Cats: My two cats - Toro and Soya - are my whole world! Ask me about them and I wouldn't be able to stop talking.

Why I'm here now

At the heart of user experience is people. I believe there's something valuable to learn from every person I meet, and I look forward to the experiences and relationships this field can expose me to.
